Books at the Rodeo
We had an incredible time at the first annual Touch A Truck - Heavy Equipment Rodeo at the Ladson Fairgrounds this past Saturday, April 5! All of the proceeds went to the Lowcountry Autism Foundation, and the event was set up with a thoughtful balance of fun activities and “calm” tents, where participants could spend some time away from the jump castles and competing construction equipment, chill out, and read a book.

We had a wonderful time talking to visitors and giving away children’s and young adult books, distributing almost 500 books during the event. Big thanks to all of the construction companies who participated, especially GulfStream Construction, which came up with the idea and ran with it. We can’t wait to see who takes home the “Grand Champion” Rodeo Belt next year!.
