Our First 1000 Book Day!

We were so excited to visit Chicora Elementary in North Charleston this past Wednesday, February 21, to attend the school’s Book Fair. Each classroom had a chance to drop by our table and take home books for themselves as well as younger siblings.

Popular books ranged from Spiderman to Harry Potter to Dog Man and books about the Titanic, with several students playing “rock, paper", scissors” to determine who got to take home a treasured title.

Between the books given out at the fair and the ones we left for their free library, as well as donations made to the school’s Teachers’ Closet, we gave away more than 1000 books in one day! Exra special thanks to Vice President and Co=Founder Mike Hutchinson and Co-Secretary Donna Bailey for setting up and attending the event. What a great day for reading!
